(16, NJ, USA) Andy - Snow-Covered

Growing up, I dabbled in various sports – hockey, football, baseball, and even more obscure sports like golf and tennis. Yet, none of them ignited a fire within me; the search for something I was truly passionate about persisted. In the heart of one winter, I found my true passion on the slopes of powder-covered mountains, a journey that brought me unparalleled joy and fulfillment. It was a family trip to Beaver Creek, Colorado, that changed everything. The moment I strapped up the bindings on my snowboard and glided down the powdery slopes for the first time, I felt an exhilarating rush that had eluded me in every other sport. The crisp mountain air, the breathtaking scenery, and the sheer freedom of carving through the snow had me hooked right away. The feelings of peace and exhilaration that occurred simultaneously were something that I had never felt before and a feeling that remains unmatched by any that I have had at this point in my life.

Sharing this new found love with my two cousins, Mia and Cam, and my Dad became a cherished tradition. We explored the beautiful peaks of Big Sky, Montana, and navigated the thrilling terrain of Salt Lake City, Utah. These trips weren't just about conquering mountains; they were about bonding, laughter, and creating long-lasting memories. As I entered high school, I found myself recruiting friends for local snowboarding adventures, like conquering the slopes of Camelback Mountain in Pennsylvania. The memories I made with these friends have solidified my passion even further, adding to my enjoyment and collection of core memories on the mountain. Now, as I approach my senior year, I am resolute in dedicating more time to what truly brings me happiness– snowboarding. Whether it's the adrenaline-fueled descents or the quiet moments surrounded by snow-covered landscapes, I've discovered a sanctuary on the mountains. I envision countless winters ahead, chasing fresh powder with friends and family, forging connections on the slopes that go beyond the trails, and ensuring that my passion for snowboarding remains an enduring chapter in the story of my life.
